Elvin Leon Smith, 90, died August 21, 2018. He was born August 7, 1928 in Lawton, OK to Joseph and Sara Lou (Melton) Smith. On Dec. 5, 1953 he married Bonnie Wonell Sullivan in OKC, OK. Elvin was a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. A member of Windsor Hills Baptist Church, he retired from Western Electric. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. Survivors include daughter, Vicki Scruggs and husband Ronnie of Norman, OK; son, David Smith of Moore, OK; grandchildren, Danny Scruggs and wife Jenni, Jeff Scruggs and wife Ashleigh, Kristen Todd and husband Michael, Melissa Wadley and husband Brent, Ryan Smith and wife Anastasia, Kayann Smith; great-grandchildren, Blake Todd, Seth Scruggs, Kyleigh Todd, Baylor Scruggs, Briar Wadley, Grace Scruggs, Katya Smith, Emory Scruggs, Weston Wadley, Ryan Smith, Jr., and Rider Scruggs. Viewing will be Thursday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Friday, August 24, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
