Ellen Bernice Defee passed away peacefully in her sleep from complications due to Alzheimer's. She was born to Willie and Helen White in Hector, Arkansas, and moved as a young girl to Weleetka, Oklahoma. Ellen is survived by her son, Phil and his wife Jennifer; granddaughters, Gemma Cooper and her husband Matt, and children Keira and Will; Laura Munnerlyn and her husband Patrick, and children Mia, Josie, Heath and Ozzie; and Lily Defee; her sister, Beverly June Puckett and her husband Jim; her brother, Willie H. White, Jr. and his wife Jeanne; her sister-in-law, Wilma White; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred; her much loved husband of 46 years, James W. Defee; and her dear brother, Clifton D. White. Ellen was an amazing woman who loved her family above all else. Her son, Phil, was her pride and joy, and his wife, Jennifer, was the daughter she never had. Her grandchildren, their spouses and her 6 great-grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to tell everyone how special they were. The viewing be will held at Mercer-Adams Funeral home in Bethany, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 6th from 9am-9pm, and Sunday 11am-9pm. Family will be present on Sunday from 2pm-4pm. Services will be on Monday, April 8th at 10am at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK, with burial at 2pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Daily Living Center in Bethany, Oklahoma.
