Ellen Marie Carter passed away in Oklahoma City on February 16, 2024 at the age of 71. She was born on June 9, 1952 in Oklahoma City to Charles and Imaletta (Doty) Carter. Ellen grew up in Bethany and graduated from Bethany High School in 1970, where she was a member of the "Twelve Year Club." She maintained a record of perfect attendance for all twelve years. Ellen spent most of her working career with Chisholm Advisors, retiring after 33 years. She was a longtime member of Williams Church of the Nazarene.

Significantly, among Ellen's favorite things in life was her family, particularly her nephews and niece, all of whom she cherished. She loved to show her love for others through cooking and enjoyed her time in the kitchen with Leah.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Odis Carter. She is survived by a brother, Steven and wife Vickie of Arlington, TX; a sister, Leah J. Martin of Bethany; nephews and niece, Mike Carter and wife Lorrain, Danny Carter and wife Christy, Bradley Carter and wife Amy, Vanessa Negley and husband Andrew and Jonathan Charles Carter and wife Kristan; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Carter; and a number of great-nephews and great-nieces, extended family members and many friends.

Viewing will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 9:00am-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Williams Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00pm.

The family requests that no flowers be sent in Ellen's memory. Instead, memorial donations may be made in Ellen's name to Williams Church of the Nazarene, Bethany Children's Health Center or Southern Nazarene University.
