Elizabeth (Betty) Schmid, 78, died March 30, 2012 in OKC. She was born June 25, 1933 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Alexander) Rack. At Haverford High School, Haverford, PA, she participated in field hockey and basketball. Betty attended State Teachers College of East Stroudsburg, Stroudsburg, PA. She was a sports enthusiast, especially golf and tennis and she enjoyed doing crafts. She was a talented piano player who loved classical music and singing in church choirs. Betty married Gustav Schmid on July 9, 1955 in Bryn Mawr, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Barbara Nye. Survivors include her husband; son, Glenn, OKC; daughters, Linda Schmid, PhD of Greeley, CO, Janet Moore and husband Montgomery of Norman, OK, Diane Senatore and husband Scott of Ayer, MA; brother, William Rack, MD of Santa Barbara, CA; grandchildren, Taylor, Chase and Kayla Moore and, Claudia, Marian and Geoffry Schmid, and Paige, Cole and Brooke Senatore. The family would like to thank the staffs of Canadian Valley Regional Hospital, Bellevue Health and Rehabilitation Center and Mercy Hospice for their loving care.
