Obituary

Elizabeth "Edwine" Adams, faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, triumphantly went to be with Him in heaven on May 21, 2020. She was a faithful loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She deeply loved her husband, Larry, and took care of him until her last moments. She loved "pretty" things, flowers, butterflies and mementos from traveling all over the world with her sweetheart. She took such joy in being a pastors wife, working with children in every church they served. She was a servant to her family and friends, always giving of herself. In her later years she wrote countless cards to a myriad of people for a myriad of reasons. There was never a more caring, compassionate, truly kind person. She was born March 18, 1934, to Ellis and Evelyn Cansler in Hopkinsville, KY. She graduated from Sinking Fork High School, Christian County, KY in 1952. She loved her home state and her extended family that still lives there. She loved KYs state bird, the cardinal, and watching UK mens and womens basketball with her husband. She was a US Navy veterans wife, and she was deeply proud of her country. She delighted in the flag, patriotic celebrations, patriotic music and patriotic clothes. She also took such joy in being a member of Putnam City Baptist Church. She supported her husband and took care of their home throughout his many years of schooling. She was so incredibly proud of him when he became Dr. Larry Adams. When he became pastor of Eufaulas First Baptist Church in 1967, she took their four children and adopted OK as her new home. Together the family also served at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee and First Baptist Church, Piedmont. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry, of the home in Oklahoma City. Children include Pam Lang and husband, Wendell, Yukon; Pat Adams, Edmond; Penny Cramer and husband, Marvin, Norman; Polly Latta and husband, Andy, Tahlequah. She was preceded to heaven by her parents, Ellis and Evelyn Cansler, a brother, James R. Cansler and a sister, Jean Cornelius. She is survived by a brother, Jerry and wife, Zilla of Hopkinsville, KY. She loved her grandchildren: Lance Lang, Leah Peters, Jillian Payne, Jake Lewis, Lauren Yates, Drew Latta, Rachael Netz, Mari and Madison Adams. Edwine had fallen in love with being a great-grandmother and with her six great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily pictures, video chats and stories from Ben and Annie Lang, Macie, Lane and Cooper Peters, and the most recent addition of Lilli Beth Yates. She will be so sorely missed, but we praise God for the glorious eternal life she is now experiencing. Edwine, Sweet Love, Mom, Nanny, your beauty consisted of an imperishable quality, a gentle and quiet spirit that is very precious in the sight of God.
