Eleanor Newman, a faithful follower of Christ, wonderful wife, mom, and grandma went to a joyful reunion with her Lord on January 5 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, William (Bill) Newman; sister, Doris Sanders of Tampa, Florida; daughter, Diane Terpening and her husband Robert of Frederick, Maryland; son, Larry Newman and his wife Stephanie of Oklahoma City; and three loved grandchildren, Matt, Haley and Emily. She was preceded in death by her father, Claud Williams of Charleston, South Carolina, and her mother, Helen Williams-Bonner of Tampa, Florida. She was cared for in her home by her loving and dedicated husband. He set the standard for care that those following him hope to follow. Although afflicted with Alzheimer's, she never lost her sweet attitude and remained loving and kind until she reached out and met with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family gives special thanks to Merlynn, LaTosha and Patricia for their loving care of Eleanor. Services will be Thursday, January 9, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Spring Creek Cemetery.
