Myrtie Elaine Brothers Fryer was born in Monroe, Louisiana on May 4, 1931 to Wylie and Irene Brothers. She passed from this life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 5, 2017. Elaine graduated from Ouachita Parish High School and went on to attend Northeastern Louisiana State University, where she majored in music. It was there that she met and eventually married 2nd Lieutenant Bennie Max Fryer on June 4, 1954. From that union were born three children; Wayne Shackleford, Jane Ann, and Rebecca Lynn. Elaine was an officers wife and homemaker. She was raised in the Baptist Church and had a strong faith relationship with Christ. Elaine was an active member at Heritage Baptist Church until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wylie and Irene Brothers; her brother, Douglas Alton Brothers; her son-in-law, Gino DeGiusti; and her husband, Bennie. Elaine is survived by her son, Wayne and his wife, Cindy; her daughter, Janie Moynihan and her husband, Bary; and her daughter, Becky DeGiusti. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher Fryer and his wife Gracielyn, Amanda Kerns and her husband Brian, Dustie Taylor and her husband Al, and Brie Moynihan; six great-grandchildren, Paul Franks, Krystal Caldwell, Mia Fryer, Ellainey Fryer, Cooper Kerns, and Caden Kerns; two great-great-grandchildren, Camden Franks and Wayne Franks; and a host of friends.
