Edna Ruth Scott of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the age of 72...although she would say 29. She was born April 27, 1942 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Woodrow Wilson "Skeet" Scott and Eula Faye Clayton. Edna was the founder of Edna's Club and Restaurant in Oklahoma City where the Lunch Boxes have flowed and Great Balls of Fire has played for the last 25 years. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, employer, and friend who never met a stranger and carried the light of the world with her everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Woodrow Wilson "BooBoo" Scott II, and her sister, Linda "Dindy" McAlister. Edna is survived by her two daughters, Linda Fowler and Tammy Lucas, and their children, Mark Johnson, Lanie Johnson and husband Joshua Holleman, Michael Whitley, and Nathan Lucas; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Miller, Emily Holleman, and Joseph Holleman; brother, Bland Scott; nephews, Steven Scott, Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Scott III, and Jamie Morrow; nieces, Tracy McAlister, and Selynda Vass; and an endless amount of friends. Just as in life, she peacefully passed into eternity surrounded by family and close friends, as her six year fight with cancer ended. Family will receive visitors Sunday, Oct. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mercer-Adams, Bethany. Services will be held at Mercer-Adams Chapel on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. with interment in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City. A celebration of life memorial reception will be held at Will Rogers Theatre at 4322 N. Western Ave., Oklahoma City, from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13, immediately following the funeral services. This reception is open to the public and anyone who wants to come out and celebrate Edna's amazing life. Please feel free to bring any photos, memorabilia, etc, and share your Edna stories. Edna has said many times that when her time came she wanted her life celebrated the way she lived it, with a big party!
