Obituary

EDNA MAE MCMAHON 1926-2022 Our Heavenly Father wrapped his loving arms around Edna Mae McMahon and lifted her into Glory and Eternal Rest on August 22, 2022 at the age of 96 years and 9 days. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday August 29 from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm with the family attending from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. Edna was blessed to be the youngest daughter of 8 other siblings born to John Harrison Collett and Rosa Collett. She came into this world in Cleveland County, Oklahoma on August 13, 1926 and was raised on a cotton farm south of Norman. She attended Ladd School and graduated high school as the Class Valedictorian. She later attended a Business School where she trained to become a bookkeeper. She met and eventually married the love of her life, James (Jimmy) William McMahon, on February 14, 1947 at the age of 20. To this marriage they were blessed with the birth of three boys, Richard, Robert, and Randal. She became a widow with 3 children at an early age as Jimmy went to be with the Lord at age 39. She went to work and was mother, father, and provider to her children. She continued to keep books for several businesses, attorneys, and for many years for her youngest sons Data Logger business. She was never satisfied until every penny was accounted for. She retired in her early 90s. Edna was a long-time and faithful member of Putnam City Baptist Church. Her children were all raised in the church and accepted Jesus as their Savior there. Her Christian influence continues even past her leaving this world. There were many hobbies she enjoyed. She loved painting especially flowers and still scenes. She also loved coloring flowers with colored pencils. Another thing she enjoyed was planting flowers and working in her flower beds at her home in Bethany. Edna was a perfectionist in her crocheting and embroidery work. Writing poetry was yet another one of her talents. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, all of her siblings, and a host of relatives. She is survived by her children, their spouses and family members, and her relatives. Edna will be missed but not forgotten. Contributions to your preferred organization(s) is preferred. .
