Edna Marylynn Fleming of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was born August 20, 1927 to Carl and Nannie Adelia Reaves, and passed away November 5, 2009. She grew up in Green Pond, Alabama, and married Edwin S. Fleming, also of Green Pond, Alabama, December 26, 1946. They then moved to Oklahoma City. Edna retired from Montgomery Wards after 31 years of service, managing areas of fashion and fine jewelry. She volunteered several years of service to the American Cancer Society after having survived cancer herself. She loved crafts of all kinds, of which many were received as gifts. She loved everyone she knew and spent much of her time helping others. Edna was always there when you needed her to lend a helping hand or provide comforting words. The words, I Love You, were not only said, they were lived by every day of her life. She will leave an empty spot in the hearts of all who knew her, especially her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin S. Fleming; her son, Jimmy Dale Fleming; her brother, John Franklin Reaves; and her sisters: Annie Nell Splawn, Miriam Poole, Eleanor Levy, Carleine Mackey, and Neineita Mikell. Survivors include her son, John Fleming; grandsons, John Avery and Thomas Andrew Fleming; granddaughter, Rebecca Fleming; great-grandchild, Tommy Ray Fleming; and her sister, Nadelia (Janie) Mitchell. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Bethany, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
