Edith M. Hughes, of Bethany, passed away June 11, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 5, 1925 in Seminole, she moved to OKC in 1945 where she worked as a hair stylist. She married Bob Hughes July 2, 1950. They shared 19 years together before his death Feb. 27, 1969. She was employed by General Electric which later became Honeywell. She retired in 1988 and began her almost 10 year volunteer career at Deaconess Hospital. She was a longtime member of Baptist Temple. Edith is survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be missed by all. Visitation will be Wed., June 15, 5-8pm at Mercer-Adams.
