Edith Ruth Ryan Chilcutt, known to family as Sis and friends as Edie, passed away August 11, 2020. She was born in Plainview, Arkansas to Edith Mae and William Allison Ryan on April 23, 1926. When she was just a baby, the family moved to Ada, OK where she spent all her young life. After high school graduation, Edie moved to Oklahoma City and married the love of her life, Bill Chilcutt. Bill was on leave from the Army Air Force and they only had 10 days before he had to return for one more year of duty before the war was over. They were married for 59 wonderful years.
Edie worked at many positions over the course of 38 years at the Federal Reserve Bank in Oklahoma City. She retired from there in 1981 but continued to attend functions given for former employees. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed all card games. Edie was a longtime member of Linwood United Methodist Church, and more recently, St. Marks United Methodist Church. She had many friends from both churches. Edie was a loving person who loved to laugh and have fun. She was loved by all who knew her.
Edie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and older brothers, W.A. Ryan, Jr. and Paul D. Ryan. She is survived by Pauls wife, Margaret; nieces, Darleen Ryan, Kathleen (Ben) Pettigrove; nephew, Dr. Robert Patton Ryan; and many loving and dear cousins and great-nieces and nephews.
