Earl William Woods, 82, of Oklahoma City, died December 29, 2009. He was born February 9, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Clara (Hochsprung) Woods. A proud Navy veteran, he served on the USS Norris as a Carpenters Mate Third Class. He married Elaine Johnson September 13, 1947. In 1959, he transferred to Oklahoma City to work at the new Western Electric Plant. He was an avid carpenter, woodworker and furniture maker. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine; daughters Carol Spradlin and husband Robert, Donna Woods, Linda Daugherty and husband Don; grandchildren Krishna Hammon, Scott Spradlin, Jason Daugherty and Kari Daugherty. Services will be Saturday, January 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Parkinsons Foundation or charity of your choice.
