Earl Jones, 79, passed away September 3, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. Earl was born on September 19, 1933 to Earl and Velma (Hughes) Jones in Wright City, Oklahoma. Earl was an insurance agent for State Farm for 31 years. He was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church for 55 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Vergie Lurtz, Wanda Bennett and Dorothy Simone. Survivors include Patty, his wife of 53 years; son, Trey Bowden and wife, Sheryl, of Edmond; daughter, Paula Gower and husband, Grant, of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren: Christia Bowden; Jessica Herford and husband, Chris; David Bowden and wife, Meagan; Matt, Cami, and Macy Gower; great-grandson, Mason Herford; sisters, Doris Hessel and Melvern Jennings and husband, Fred; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Sunday, 1-9pm, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Earl's life will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Northwest Baptist Church, 3030 N.W. 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
