Dwayne Gerald Forsberg, a loved and respected long term resident of Kansas City, passed away in Bethany, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Dwayne and his twin brother, Wayne, were born in Hepler, Kansas on August 12, 1926 to Dutch and Bonnie Forsberg. Dwayne served under General Douglas MacArthur in the army in the battle for the liberation of the Philippines. After the war, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he became a lifelong employee of Hallmark Cards with a total service to the company of 44 years. At Hallmark Cards, Dwayne met an energetic, fun-loving red head named Inez Marie Turner and married her on June 1, 1956. Born to Dwayne and Inez was their only child, Douglas Dwayne Forsberg, on February 25, 1957. Dwayne will be remembered as a faithful, loving husband to Inez. Together they made, "The Charming Couple." Dwayne and Inez most assuredly had the gift of hospitality. Their love for people, cooking, special dinners and parties strongly endeared them to friends, neighbors, and family. With the passing of Dwayne, the world is minus a man who was a true model of patriotism, kindness, and generosity. Quick to smile and quick to laugh, his kind and energetic spirit will truly be missed by all who knew him. Dwayne leaves behind two brothers, Don Forsberg of Kansas City, MO and Gene Forsberg of Iola, KS. Dwayne also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Maxine of Grandview, MO and his son and daughter-in-law, Doug and DeVonna Forsberg of Yukon, Oklahoma. Dwayne will be laid to rest beside his wife, Inez (who passed away in 2014) and his only grandchild, Cherokee Michelle Forsberg (who passed away in 2010) in a private graveside ceremony at the Yukon, Oklahoma Cemetery.
