Duke Levi Zeller, 78, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Duke was born in Longmont, Colorado, to James Ivan Zeller and Awyn Sarah Zeller. On April 20, 1990, he married Shirley Ilene Zeller (Spikes), with whom he shared 35 years of marriage. Together, they made their home in Cimarron, New Mexico, where they built a life rooted in family, dedication, and shared memories.

Duke was a devoted and loving husband who valued hard work and integrity. He spent 40 years as an aviation mechanic, a career that reflected his lifelong passion for airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ivan Zeller and Awyn Sarah Zeller.

Duke is survived by his wife, Shirley Ilene Zeller; his daughter, Marcia Lynn Boaz of Topeka, Kansas; his son, Aaron Paul Zeller of Midland, Texas; his stepdaughter, Nicki Maize of Midland, Texas and family; his grandsons, Stuart Thomas Boaz and Clayton Darwin Boaz; and his brother, James Douglas Zeller.

Duke will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and quiet strength.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, from 2:00–4:00 p.m., with family present, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service.
