Obituary

Dudley Goolsby, Jr., age 75, died on Sunday, October 1st, 2017 in Oklahoma City. He was born in Durant, OK on August 4th, 1942 to Jewell and Dudley Goolsby. He was a graduate of Idabel High School and received his BA from Oklahoma State University. He was a member of the National Guard. Dudley owned a commercial laundry business in Idabel, OK, then in 1984 started his lifetime career as a bail agent. He was instrumental in forming the Idabel EMS board and served as Chairman for eight years. Dudley was among a small group of bail agents in 1986 who formed the Oklahoma Bondsman Association of which he served as President from 1998-2002 and was re-elected and serving since 2006. During his presidency, Oklahoma passed the bail agent education law. He served as the Chairman of the Council of Presidents and was named Bail Agent of the Year in 1996. Dudley was President of the Professional Bail Agents of the United States from 2004-2005 and inducted into the PBUS Hall of Fame in 2011. One friend described Dudley as a "consummate professional who was as smart as a fox." He loved music, good food, talking politics, OSU sports and Thunder basketball games. His smile lit up a room and everyone loved a good Dudley hug. He was a great father and truly cared for others. Dudley was described as a forever friend who was loved by all. Dudley is survived by his wife, Nadine; daughter, Jamie Webb and husband Grant, and grandchildren, Matt and Rachel Webb; daughter, Brandei Goolsby; step-daughter, Kristin Collins and husband Bryan, and grandchildren, Skyler Hoffman, Wesley, Casey and Brayden Collins; sisters, Jo Ann Goodner and husband George, Peggy Thomas, Marilyn Dixon and husband Jerry; nieces and nephews and countless friends. Celebration service Saturday, October 28th, 2-4pm at Myriad Gardens Terrace Room, OKC. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Folds of Honor or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
