Duane Claire Smiley, son of Leroy and Ethel Owens, died peacefully at home on Friday, Feb. 19th. Duane was born on June 18, 1930 in Bethany, OK. Predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and son Kenneth who was waiting for him with open arms at Heavens gate, Duane is survived by his wife, Francine, son Gary and wife Deborah) of Springfield, sister Laverne Willson of OKC, nephew Richard Harrison of OKC and 2 grandchildren, Lorene and David Smiley along with numerous other nieces and nephews. Duane served as Chief Hospital Corpsman, US Navy retired and also retired from the Post Office. Services will be at 2pm Monday at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church with a rosary service at 7pm on Sunday at Mercer Adams.
