While at OCU, Doug became a proud member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

In November of 1979, Doug married Janice Ann Brown and lovingly adopted her young son, Jason. They are devout members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Warr Acres.

Doug worked as an attorney for the Commissioners of the Land Office for the State of Oklahoma and later as a petroleum landman.

He is fondly remembered by family and friends for his amazing memory and wealth of knowledge in the areas of history, geography and geopolitics.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Jason; granddaughter, Autumn; younger brothers, David, Peter and Daniel and their wives; and numerous nieces and nephews.
