Obituary

Dorothy May McLemore died peacefully at home on November 30, 2009. She was born June 19, 1932 in Oklahoma City to Grover and Orenda (Lutz) Cooley. Dorothys greatest love was her garden and her two dachshunds. She was a member of the Oklahoma Horticultural Society and served as Treasurer. She loved working in the yard. She also enjoyed oil painting, showing and selling many of her works. For many years Dorothy was an inspirational Girl Scout leader, taking her troops on many trips and other activities including hiking, rock climbing, swimming and water skiing. She worked for State Farm Insurance, working alongside agents John Westmorland, Doug Eaton, and Cassie Bowen. After retirement, she helped organize and served as President of an investment club. She and her husband, Bob, traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad, often flying their own plane. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Barry Keith McLemore; sister, Jane Quiet; and brother, Raymond Cooley. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob, and her daughter Shelly. Viewing will be Monday, December 7, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 8, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
