Dorothy Ellen Burns, 93, died October 13, 2012. She was born November 24, 1918 in Clinton, MO to Isaac and Ora (McCown) Harvey. Before retirement, she worked in the AMC on N.W. 10th and enjoyed greeting their customers. She loved playing Bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles and listening to Lawrence Welk. But, her favorite thing to do was dance. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Larry Scott, Sr., and by her "soul mate", John Edwards Burns; her brother, Walter Harvey; her sister, Bernice Moncrief; her grandson, David Bennington; and great-grandsons, Christian and Joshua Cawthon. She is survived by her children, Norman Larry Scott, Jr. and wife Gerrie of Ft. Worth, TX, Brent Scott and wife Tina of Edmond, OK, Barbara Nichols of Warr Acres, OK, Linda Thach and husband Glen of Yukon, OK, Timothy Burns of Eagan, MN, Thomas Burns of Eagan MN, and John Burns and wife Nancy of Farmington, MN; grandchildren, Valerie, Elizabeth, Kristy, Tiffany, Christopher, David, Michael N., Melissa, Lesley, Michael B., Alex, Ryan, Anna, Bradley, Kimberly, Ashley, Amber, Jennifer, Clayton and Tyler; numerous great-grandchildren; and other family members and many friends at Southern Plaza who loved her dearly. The family wishes to thank Danya Seward and Vicki Outland for their loving care and devoted attention to Dorothy. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9am-9pm, with the family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Thursday, October 18, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
