Dorothy Louise Buffington, 88, died April 15, 2010. She was born May 17, 1921 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Julius and Martha (Lemen) Thompson. She was an elementary school teacher in Texas before retiring. She was married to Jack Ralph Buffington who preceded her in death Nov. 18, 2005. Also preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Thompson, and sister Kathryn Miller. Dorothy is survived by her son, John David Buffington, Portland, OR; daughter Dorcas Ann Smith and husband Kent, Washington, OK; sisters Ruth Rackley, Sapulpa, OK, Evelyn Gilley, Bethany, OK, Margaret Thompson, Ft. Worth, TX; brother Franklin Thompson, Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Marty Chilcote and wife Molly, Norman, OK, and Megan Harmon and husband E.J., Edmond, OK. Viewing will be Sunday, noon-9pm and Monday, 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams with services Tuesday, April 20, 10:00am at Bethany First Nazarene, Chapel in the Round. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
