Dorothy Joan Brocious was born November 29, 1932 in Truittsburg, Pennsylvania, to Albert and Cora Dean Brocious, and died January 21, 2009 in Yukon, Oklahoma. She is survived by one sister, Lorraine and her husband Dale, and one brother, Richard Brocious and his wife Linda. She is also survived by many friends, her church family at Capitol Hill Church of the Nazarene, and co-workers at Southern Nazarene University, where she was employed for 38 years. As a young woman, Dorothy became so overwhelmed with life that she decided only suicide would solve her problems. But, she heard the bells of a small church ringing at an unlikely time, and followed the sound to find her Savior and deliverer waiting to receive her in His love and forgiveness. Through the many adventures and tumults of life she followed her Lord. Services to honor her life will be held Saturday, January 24, 2:30 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma.
