Dorothy Mathilda "Dot" Blum, 89, died Sept. 6, 2012. She was born Oct. 7, 1922 in OKC to Pascual and Mathilda (Kuhlman) Gonzalez. She joined brother, Manuel K. Gonzalez. She attended Putnam City HS where she met Karl Henry Blum and, after graduating business school, they were married March 4, 1940. To this union three children were born; Carol Kay, Judith Louise, and Karl Henry, Jr. They made their home in Bethany. Karl and Dorothy were owner operators of Blum's Greenhouse for many years. Dorothy was active in church, volunteering at the children's schools, and was a Brownie & Girl Scout leader for many years. She won many ribbons at the county and state fairs for her baking, canning and seamstress work. She loved Jesus and was a powerful prayer warrior. She read her Bible every day and prayed for her family and friends faithfully. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Karl Sr.; brother; in-laws; daughter, Judy; and grandsons, Richard Alan Blalock and Robert Woodring, Jr. Survivors include daughter, Carol Blalock and husband Gene; son-in-law, Robert Woodring, Sr.; son, Karl Blum and wife Kay; grandchildren, Carla White and husband Barney, Lisa Elliott and husband Tim, Robert Jr's wife, Lisa Woodring, Greg Blalock and wife Connie, Michelle Woodring, Sherri Hawk and husband Clyde, Mike Carney and wife Karen; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and cousin, Gladys Gragg and husband Jerry. Memorial donations may be made to the Gulf Shore Life Center Benevolence Fund, PO Box 520, Bonita Springs, FL 34133. Memorial service will be at 10:00am, Monday, Sept. 10 at Canadian Hills Church of the Nazarene, Yukon.
