Doris Dean Wilcox was born on Oct. 15, 1926 in Monroe, OK to Troy and Fannie Smith. She moved to Oklahoma City as a teenager and graduated from Classen High School in 1944. She married Robert P. Wilcox, Jr. on July 19, 1946 at Trinity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. They were married for 56 years. She was a long time member of Highland Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Doris loved working with children in the church nursery. She was always working on some type of craft or writing poetry. She loved to travel, having visited all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and the Panama Canal. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sons, Charles and wife Cora, Eddie and wife Susan, and Scott and wife Kimberly. She was blessed with grandchildren, Katherine and husband Tracey Barnett, Frances and husband George Clevenger, Sarah Wilcox and fianc Corey Johnson, Zach Wilcox, Lydia Wilcox, and Joshua Wilcox. She also had 7 great-grandchildren, Ellana Polite, J'Mill Barnett, Jor-el Barnett, Brian and wife Kendal Clevenger, Kristen Clevenger and Caden Clevenger. This year she was blessed with her first great-great grandson, Brice Clevenger. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Smith and wife Judy; niece, Wendy Reed and husband Doug and their children, Marisa and Hudsons; nephew, Eric Smith and wife Julie and their children, Danica and Devin.
