Doris InaMae Bostwick, 87, died on February 16, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born December 24, 1936, in Redland, Oklahoma to Earl Walter and Pearl LaRue Mathews.
Doris married Johnnie Lee Bostwick on June 17, 1960, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After 60 years of marriage, Johnnie preceded Doris in death on January 18, 2021.
Doris was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Oklahoma City where she was manager of the cash division for many years. She was a member of Yukon First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed family gatherings and was always the first to begin planning as Christmas, Easter, or the 4th of July approached. She was fiercely independent and considered a strong woman by all who knew her. Her physical body failed, but her spirit remained resilient to the end.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters. She is survived by 2 sisters, Sue White of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Loretta Allison of Fort Smith, Arkansas; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Sunday, February 18, from 11am-8pm. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, February 19 at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelly, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
