Donald Lee Spillman passed away peacefully at his home and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Don was born in Covington, OK on July 19, 1940 to Alva and Katie Spillman. He was preceded in death by both parents; his four older brothers, Walter, Cecil, Dean and Lewellan; and sister, Dorothy. He has one surviving sister, Opal Kimmell. Don graduated from Covington High School in 1958 where he excelled in football, baseball and basketball. Upon graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Hutcherson, on 8/22/1959. After high school, Don worked at 3M as a supervisor for a period of time before his eventual employment at General Motors where he worked as a tool & die machinist, retiring from the company after 22 years of service in 2000. Don loved fast cars and fast boats, building several of both over the years. He also greatly enjoyed time at his home on Lake Eufaula where he had many friends and was always the guy that could fix anything with a motor and was always quick with a joke (sometimes even a clean one). Don was a caring husband and father and leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-six years, Sandra; their daughters, Becky Stumpff and son-in-law Randy of Bartlesville, Kimberly Davidson and son-in-law David of Piedmont, and Donna Maberry of Oklahoma City; grandkids, Cassandra, Tanner, Rece, Dawson, Donnie, Cherie, Heather and Austin; and 5 great-grandkids. He is forever in our hearts and will be greatly missed. Viewing will be Tuesday and Wednesday, 8am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm both days at Mercer-Adams. Graveside service will be Thursday, June 11 at 1:00pm in Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Donald's memory.
