Donald Smith was born June 9, 1932 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Fred and Velma (Clark) Smith. The family moved to Anadarko, Oklahoma when he was very young. He grew up there and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1949.
He attended OU for a year and then enlisted in the US Air Force for four years, part of which time he spent serving in Japan. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for a few years. He then started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He held various positions in several different cities in Oklahoma for thirty two years and five months until his retirement in Oklahoma City on December 31, 1991.

Those he loved most and were most precious to him were God and his family. His Church and his Sunday School class also held a special place in his heart.
Donald left his earthly home to enter his home in heaven on July 8. Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred and Velma Smith.
