Donald Carl Herrmann died on April 5, 2017. He was born to Walter and Lovine (Hileman) Herrmann on November 27, 1932, in Salina, Kansas. He graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1954, then served in the U.S. Army. A lifelong entrepreneur, Don was most recently a membership liaison for Oklahoma state employee insurance, and a member of the Church of the Firstborn.
While his first love was for his family, all those close to him knew him as a lifelong bon vivant with an infectious passion for food, wine, and song. Whether he was baking cookies with his grandchildren, learning Spanish for a planned sailing trip to Belize, or belting out "Lady of Spain," there was no doubt that he cherished every minute of his full life.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister, DeLola Mae Hill. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Libby," his sons, Matt Herrmann and wife Tezza of San Rafael, CA, Kevin Herrmann and wife Beatriz, Mike Herrmann, Chris Herrmann, and daughter, Debby Graham and husband David of Oklahoma City. He was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Daniel, Andrew, Bryan, Benten, Luisa and Marina, and 2 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sarah.
Visitation will be Sunday at Mercer Adams from 2p-9p and Monday from 8a-9p. Services will be Tuesday at 10:00am at Mercer Adams Chapel with interment following at 3:00 at Parkland Cemetery in Agra, OK.Donations may be made in his name to the American Lung Association at lung.org
