Donald Clarence Finley, born June 24, 1919 at Gladstone, MO to William Elvin Finley and Maggie Kennedy Finley, went to be with the Lord on February 16th, 2010 in OKC, OK. He married Sarah Elizabeth Phillips November 7, 1942 in Eldon, MO. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage. He was a beloved father of Ronald Wayne Finley and Linda Sue Tucker. His life was blessed with five living grandchildren, Gayla Finley Miller, Craig Finley, Erin Finley Rencher, Kim Tucker Banz and Scott Tucker. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kirstine Rachelle Finley. He received great joy from his great grandchildren, Matthew Miller, Maggie Miller, Gavin Miller, Hailey Grace Banz, Maggie Elizabeth Banz, Lily Faith Banz, DeLaina Finley, Ricki McGrew, Jorden Rencher and Jacob Rencher, and one great-great-granddaughter, Bella Rose McGrew. Don spent most of his life as a Printer/pressman. He retired from the Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City, MO after 18 years of service. He always felt he had a part in spreading the gospel all over the country. He and his wife Elizabeth moved to Hickory County, MO in 1978. They have made many friends in the past 32 years. He served his community well during these years. He started the Community Choir in the 1980's. He was the director for 13 years. The choir is still performing to this day. Don was ordained when he was 75 years old and served as pastor of the Spring Branch Church of the Brethren for 9 years. Before he became a pastor he was a member of The Church of the Nazarene for most of his life. He will be missed by his family and friends. He is in heaven with the Savior he loved so dear. He is singing with the beautiful tenor voice that he was robbed of by throat cancer over 40 years ago. He is no longer struggling to breathe. Services will be Saturday, February 20, 11:00am at the Galmey Community Bible Church with interment in Spring Branch Church of the Brethren Cemetery near Wheatland, MO.
