Donald "Don" Deal passed away Tuesday, May 20 at the age of 89. Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was a kind and gentle soul to all who knew him.

Born in Bagley, Iowa, he met and fell in love with Vonnie Dell Moore while visiting his cousin in Arkansas. After a brief love letter-writing frenzy, they were married in Huff, Arkansas in Vonnie's family home on December 18, 1955. After living briefly in Little Rock, Arkansas, they moved to Oklahoma to join Vonnie's brother, Covie, and his wife Nancy. Don worked as an abstractor for several years and later began working with Vonnie at their Daylight Donuts shop in Bethany.

Don and Vonnie had two daughters, Deborah Daily (husband Steve) and Dondra Floresca (husband Mitch); three granddaughters, Lauren Trammell (husband Tony), Andie Edwards (husband Jay), and Allie Leonard (husband Chad); six great-grandchildren, Jay, Saylor, Harper, Walker, Huxley and Lily (who was born just hours before he passed away); and brother, Norm Deal of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Don lived a full life filled with love for his wife, family and friends and will truly be missed. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 10:30am at Mercer-Adams Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.
