Obituary

Donald Douglas Davis, 78, of Yukon, OK, died unexpectedly July 19, 2011. Don was born Aug. 23, 1932 in Portland, OR to Carl F. and Ruth R. Davis. The family moved to OK in 1935 and settled on a farm west of Dover. He attended school and graduated from Dover HS as the valedictorian of his class. He attended and graduated from OSU, and the ROTC program, graduating as a 2nd Lt. After graduating from OSU, Don enlisted in the US Army. He was sent to Germany to provide security during the Berlin Conflict. Don was very proud of his military service and was a very dedicated 1st Lt. A Grand Salute to you, Don Davis! After receiving an honorable discharge, he began a career as an insurance agent, working in that field until he retired and moved to Yukon, OK. Don was an avid fan and supporter of the Oklahoma State University athletic program, and attended many of their functions. He is survived by one sister, Rita R. Reed and her husband Floyd of Mitchell, SD; 6 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Leslie Davis. Don was very much loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be Sat., July 23, 11:00am in Resurrection Cemetery.
