Dolores Simons, 85, passed away in the home on February 22, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born May 19, 1934 in Manning, Iowa to Leo Henry and Elizabeth Alice (Hoffman) Steffes. She married Eugene "Gene" Simons on June 9, 1950 in Oklahoma City. Dolores was a loving homemaker. She attended the St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. She loved gardening, growing flowers and vegetables. She loved antiques, knitting and putting puzzles together with her family. Her love for her kids and grandchildren was unconditional. Gum Gum as she was known will be missed by everyone that ever met her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene in 2002, grandchild Megan Simons, great grandchildren Jaeda Simons and Lanisha Simons. She is survived by her children, William and wife Melodee Simons of Oklahoma City, Carlene and husband Gerrell Beaty of Choctaw, Robert and wife Julie Simons of Oklahoma City, Michael Simons and Lisa Smith of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Jacob and Rhonda Simons, Justin and Jennifer Beaty, Amy Ingraham, Eric & Shelly Beaty, Ben & Sara Hutton, Randee Beaty, Blake Simons, Mary Kathryn & Chris Gunn, Joshua & Jenny Simons, Audra & Issac Anderson, Elesha Evans, and Robert Evans; great grandchildren, Jeremiah Simons, Josiah Simons, JoShuan Simons, Joshua Simons, Max Beaty, Mason Beaty, Harper Ingraham, Raelynn Hutton, Quinn Hutton, Faith Gunn, Emily Simons, Parker Simons, Avery Simons, Kinley Anderson, Livie Anderson, Abby Evans; Sisters, Mary Ann Gunter, Geneva Waller, Cornilia Gilner, Betty Lindsey; brothers, Leon Steffes, Bobby Steffes, Gerald Steffes and Bill Steffes. Services will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family would love donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
