Obituary

Denith Vernelle Peck-Hull was born January 11, 1941 and passed into the arms of Christ on April 10, 2014. She was the first of three children born to Claremont and Alberta Peck. She grew up in and around Kearney Nebraska and graduated from Kearney Senior High School in 1960. She left Kearney for college at Bethany Nazarene College where she attended until 1962. Denith was preceded in death by her parents, Claremont and Alberta. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hull of Bethany, Oklahoma; two brothers, Richard Peck of Hastings, Nebraska and Arlie Peck and his wife Marva of Lakeland, Florida; two daughters, Manina Kline and her three children, Sonja, Jarrod and Afton; Cheryl Eslinger and her husband David and her two sons, Byron and Bryce; and her son, Kirk Hull and his wife, Stacey and his two children, Marlowe and Maclain of Mansfield, Texas. She is survived by four great-grandchildren, Adriana, Austin, LeeAnn and Lukas and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends that called her Aunt Denith. While working as a Nurse Aide at Baptist Memorial Hospital she met and fell in love with Jerry Hull. At the time, Jerry was a widower with three children - Manina, age 5, Cheryl, age 4 and Kirk, age 3. The two were married August 11th, 1962. Denith reveled in her role as Wife, Mother and Homemaker to her "ready-made" family. Originally the family lived in Yukon, Oklahoma but shortly after marriage moved to Bethany where they still have their original home. Aside from being a homemaker, Denith provided daycare for many years to numerous children in her home. She always had a spectacular garden where you could find her working and nurturing almost every day that weather permitted. Denith was very active in her church. She, along with Jerry were youth leaders in their church for numerous years, ministering and mentoring innumerable young lives. She played the organ and piano for church services. She sang in the church choir, she taught Sunday school, worked in the Vacation Bible School and could always be counted on to volunteer and support any project or activity that came along. She truly cherished her church family. She was lovingly called "Grandma" by many of the children she came in contact with through her church activities. She taught an OKC area Bible study and was always willing to listen and pray for those around her in need. Denith's greatest achievement was the home that she made for her husband and three children. Always active in sewing and crafts, she taught all three of her children how to sew clothes, how to cook and how to work with almost anything to create crafts. She taught all three of her children to play the piano and nurtured each of them through the lessons of violin, viola, organ and saxophone. She instilled the value of hard work but could always find a way to make work and chores fun. After her children left home, Denith continued using her skills at sewing and crafts to open her store, the Needle Works, in Warr Acres. She even taught herself how to knit so that she could teach others that came into her store and wanted to learn how. She ran that successful business for several years. After the Needle Works, she became very active as a distributor for Creative Memories and continued that work until her health would no longer permit. Denith was truly a blessing to all those she came in contact with and will always be remembered for her love of life, her quickness to smile and her love to laugh. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 at the New Hope Worship Center.
