Della "Chi Chi" Fauss was born in Port Arthur, TX, and moved in 1938 with her parents, SP and Mae Dawson, to Bethany, where she met the love of her life, Ed "Jr" Fauss, who lived a block away and was almost the same age. They dated throughout school and married in 1945 while he was home on leave after attaining his officer's commission in the US Navy. Their marriage lasted until his death 60 years later, having lived mostly in Okla. City plus 11 years in Bartlesville. Della was a talented musician and graduated from Central State College in Edmond, OK, with a Bachelor Degree in Music. She took piano for 7 years and had a beautiful lyric soprano voice. For several years, she taught music in the Oklahoma City Public Schools. She was very active in her congregation, Central Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City. Whether serving Mobile Meals, teaching Sunday School, or singing in the choir, she was a devoted member and served humbly and faithfully. In the community, she served as President of the Oklahoma City Bar Auxiliary and as a member of the Ladies Music Club of Oklahoma City. She was deeply spiritual and the kindest, most loving and supportive person anyone who met her ever knew. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Kathy Dawson; daughter, Paula Doyle of Nashville, TN; son, Kent Fauss of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Mark Doyle, Joey Doyle (who preceded her in death) and Collin Fauss; granddaughters-in-law, Kate Pritchard and Heather Fauss; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Graydon, Addison, Rose and Jane; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Viewing will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany from 2:00pm-9:00pm with family present from 6:00-8:00pm. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel at Concordia Life Center with interment immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery.
