Della Mae Cole Duke, 85 died October 23, 2012. She was born April 22, 1927 in Wichita Falls, TX to E.B. and Ruby (Curtis) Cole. Della grew up in Wichita Falls, TX and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1944. After graduation, she attended Midwestern State University and worked for Sheppard Air Force Base during WWII. She later moved to Oklahoma City, OK where she met and married Joe Bill Duke. She felt blessed that they had a wonderful life together and were married for 54 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Some of her best memories were spending time with her family at their cabin in Red River, NM. Della's greatest joy was watching her family perform in sports and school events. She was a long time member at Portland Avenue Baptist Church. Della was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bill. She is survived by her sons, Kent Duke, Kevin Duke, Kyle Duke; daughter, Karla Stewart; daughters-in-law, Debbie Duke, Chris Duke; son-in-law , John Stewart; and grandchildren, Ashley and Tim Fischer, Kevin Duke Jr., Brandon Duke, Katie Duke, Taylor Duke, Lydia Stewart, Kyle Duke Jr., Brianna Duke, Lauren Stewart, and Philip Duke II. Funeral services will be Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Resurrection Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Mercer-Adams from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The family will be there to greet friends and family.
