Dayl L. Kaiser, 72, died April 8, 2013 in Oklahoma City. He was born Nov. 8, 1940 in Newton, KS, the son of Arthur L. and Helen (Nachtigal) Kaiser. He attended Newton High School, graduating in 1958. On Aug. 4, 1963, he married Mary Lu Craddock in Canon City, CO. He graduated from the College of Emporia in 1962 and McCormick Theological Seminary in 1966. He was ordained to the ministry in July, 1966. He went to the Philippines, 1966-1969, on an experimental mission program. He went first to Baguio where he worked in the Baguio Mining Ministry. After a year and a half, we went to Manila. He worked with a community organization in Manila in a squatter area in the foreshore lands. He worked 5 years as Director of the Health Fairs for Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas 1970-1975. It was a program of the Board of National Missions of the Presbyterian Church centered on community organization with the emphasis on organizing a health fair. For the next 15 years, he was Director of Second Presbyterian Mission at 9th and McKinley. The mission is still going strong as Presbyterian Urban Mission at N.W. 36th and Portland. He was the Disaster Response person for Indian Nations Presbytery and the Oklahoma Council of Churches for several years. Upon leaving the Second Church Mission, he worked for DHS, 1990-2005, retiring in 2005 after a heart attack and quadruple bypass. Dayl was a calm, gentle and compassionate person. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Dayl was preceded in death by his parents, and Mary Lu's parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lu; daughter, Holly Toy of Yukon; son, Alan Kaiser of Yukon; grandchildren, Chandler, Ryan and Caitlin Toy, and Lyric Allmon; sister, Sandra Larson and husband Ron and children Martin Jay and Alisa Dineen; and aunt, Evelyn Terry of Wichita. Memorials may be made to the Calvin Presbyterian Church or the College of Emporia Scholarship Fund.
