David Alan Whetzel, a senior at Yukon High School, died August 9, 2010 in OKC at the age of 20. David was born in Oklahoma City to Robert and Willanne (Beverley) Whetzel. As a military dependent, he lived in six different states before moving to Yukon, OK last year. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He enjoyed competing in Special Olympics bowling, where he earned gold medals at state competitions. David was also active in his church youth group, and a member of his high school choir. David was preceded in death by his twin brother Kristopher. He is survived by his father and mother, Robert and Willanne Whetzel; his brother, Jonathan Whetzel; grandmother, Colliece Whetzel; and great-grandmother, Vera Collins. Funeral services will be Friday, August 13, 10:00am at Council Road Baptist Church with burial following in Fort Sill National Cemetery.
