David Tyler was a simple man.
No frills, nothing fancy, not even any dressing on his salad. Ever.
But his requests from this life, while sometimes perplexing and even frustrating for those of us around him, were always consistent, never complicated.
Time with family.
A good car show.
An old western movie.
Something with gravy on it.
A corny joke.
An old gospel hymn.
Popcorn.
Not much changed about him, but then not much needed to.
It worked for him.
Even though most of his cars didnt.
And when his body grew tired of fighting the fight, he had just one last uncomplicated request from this life: let me leave peacefully and go home.
Thank you, Lord, for answering his prayer.
Davids family will host a memorial service for him on Sunday, September 9, at Guthrie Gospel Chapel, 424 E. Oklahoma.
