Obituary

David Lee Nieman, 62, passed away October 13, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born December 3, 1961 in Lawrenceburg, IN to Daniel and Karen (Schaefer) Nieman. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving as a financial service specialist. After leaving the Air Force, he continued to serve his country as a member of the Air National Guard in the areas of meteorology and navigation systems.

David enjoyed a successful career with the US Postal Service. He was a devout Christian and his faith in Jesus was the most important thing in his life. He played the guitar, was an avid reader, and loved outdoor adventure activities. He was a big fan of NASCAR and the Cincinnati Bengals. Most of all, David loved his children and grandchildren, and time spent with them was precious to him.

David was preceded in death by his father; twin nieces, Emily and Claire Nieman; and granddaughter, Paisley, with whom he will be laid to rest. He is survived by his mother, Karen Schaefer-Nieman; daughter, Sarah Gaines and husband, Tyson; sons, Aaron Nieman and his fiancée, Amy Lessig; and David Nieman; 9 grandchildren, Daxton, Dash, Peighton, Luke, Braylynn, Kya, Addison, Addalynn and Beckham; brother, Eric Nieman and his wife, Colleen; sister, Kimberlee Callan and husband, Rocky; niece, Jessica Bloebaum; and nephew, George Bloebaum.

Viewing will be Thursday, 12-8pm with family present from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be Friday, October 18, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
