David Clark Monk was born in Oklahoma City May 17, 1950 to Clem and Audrey Monk. He went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 5, 2015. David graduated from OU with a BS in Microbiology and a MBA from UCO. After working in the oil business for 20 years, David went to work for The City of Oklahoma City in 1992. He most recently worked for the Oklahoma City Fire Department in the Administration Office where he greatly enjoyed working with the Fire Fighters and the administrative team. He could often be found tending to his garden, when he wasn't hiking or camping. David's passion for the outdoors was furthered through his role as a Boy Scout leader. David was preceded in death by his parents, Clem & Audrey Monk and sister, Mary Katharine Monk. David is survived by his wife, Donna, son, David Drouot Monk & wife Courtney, granddaughter, Elise Monk, and father-in-law, Joe Drouot. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Oklahoma. Services are Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at 10 am at the chapel at Crossings Community Church. Burial will be immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery. Viewing will be Mon, Feb 9 from 2-9pm with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer Adams Funeral Service.
