David L. Fletcher was born March 7, 1939 to Priscilla and C.C. Fletcher who preceded him in death. David left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on June 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Janice; and three sisters, Lorrainne Mack of Ft. Smith, AR, Delores Jacobs and husband Hank of Russellville, AR, and Carol Mink and husband Lynn of La Habra, CA. After David earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bethany Nazarene College and his Masters Degree from Central State (Edmond), he taught math and other subjects for 31+ years at Millwood Public Schools in Oklahoma City. David was a gifted writer. He wrote two devotional books and numerous articles for several magazines. In 1985, David met the love of his life, Janice Eyster. They married on July 14, 1990 and made their home in Bethany, OK. They loved to serve the Lord together in a music ministry. They ministered 10 years with music at various Sterling House locations and retirement centers, encouraging the participation of residents with old time gospel songs. David served the Lord with gladness while helping people in need even when it was not easy or convenient to do so. David will be missed by his wife and numerous relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 17, at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, OK.
