David Leon Flesner died Sunday, August 21, 2022, at age 80. He was a resident of Oklahoma City, OK.
David was a beloved dad, papa, great-granddad, and brother. David was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Elvis and Myrtle Flesner October 5, 1941. He graduated from Stillwater High School in 1960. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska during the Cuba Missile Crisis. David married his first wife, Carol Witt in 1965. They were married for 15 years and had a son, Leslie, and a daughter, Cindy. He then married Judy Hayward in 1981. This is when his stepchildren, Christopher, Michelle, and Robert came into his life. He never referred to them as his stepchildren, they were just his kids.
After David left the Air Force, he became a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. He retired from the USPS in 1991 and worked nights as a security guard until retiring completely. He always said he was retired Monday through Friday and was off Saturday and Sunday. David was quite the comedian and kept everyone laughing. He loved to doodle dragons and various things and sing off key to made up lyrics.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Hayward) Flesner, son, Leslie Flesner and wife, Regan; daughter, Cindy Halbert and husband, Terry; Son, Christopher Hooper and wife, Becky; Daughter, Michelle Doody and husband, Ryan; Son, Robert White and wife, Babs; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
David was very much a family man. He loved his family with all his heart. He was a baseball fan and loved to watch College Football - preferred OU to OSU but cheered for both teams. He loved animals, especially dogs. David was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
There is no memorial service planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their local animal shelter in David's name.
