David Harold
Finley
Sep 22, 1956 — Mar 8, 2025
David Harold Finley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 68.
Dave was born in Republic, WA and spent much of his childhood on the West Coast. During his early teen years, he lived in England, where he had the opportunity to travel across Europe with his family, enjoying its rich history and music. After returning to the United States, he settled in Mission Bay, San Diego, where he embraced his love for the ocean. He enjoyed swimming, surfing, and sailing, and he also played high school football. In high school, he learned motorcycle mechanics, which sparked his lifelong passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and riding.
In 1984, Dave met the love of his life, Linda, in San Diego, CA. They were introduced through mutual friends, and she was instantly drawn to his pretty blue eyes. They started dating in California and later moved to Oklahoma to be closer to family. Dave and Linda were married on January 17, 1986, and recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Together, they settled down in Oklahoma, where they raised their two sons, David and Ryan.
For work, Dave drove for Donco Carriers for several years before starting his own trucking business, "Finley & Sons Trucking." Even though David and Ryan were just babies at the time, he made sure they were included. After years of cross-country trucking, he was ready to be closer to home. In 1996, he began working for Dolese, a company he deeply respected for its high work standards and conservation efforts. Over the years, he held various roles, including mixer driver, loader operator, plant and boiler mechanic, and, most recently, scale clerk at the Jones Sand Plant. He valued the many friendships he built during his nearly 29 years at Dolese and took great pride in working alongside his two sons. He was incredibly proud of them, their accomplishments, and the great men they had become.
Dave was a hardworking and loyal man who had high standards. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and football, and spending time with his family. He loved his two grandchildren, Leo and Eleanor, always getting a kick out of their antics.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his son, David, and wife, Morgan; his son, Ryan, and wife, Connie; and his adored grandchildren, Leonardo and Eleanor. He is also survived by his siblings, Teri, Lynn, Sue, Chuck, and their families.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on March 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel, with Jake Hillemeyer officiating.
Dave's legacy of strength, loyalty, and love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed on this obituary page.
