Darlene Bennett Purcell, 73, went to heaven November 13, 2011. She fought a long battle with Alzheimers and is finally at peace. She was born October 13, 1938 in Morehead City, NC to Leslie and Edna (Bennett) Brinson. She graduated high school in 1956 in Morehead City. She married William Bruce Purcell, enjoying 53 wonderful years of life together. Darlene was a stay at home mom who was always available when her girls needed her. She was dearly loved by her family and will be deeply missed. A member of Council Road Baptist Church, she enjoyed singing and was always a member of the choir, served as church organist, and liked to read and work crossword puzzles. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Karen Purcell of Moore, OK, Diane Davies of Broken Arrow, OK; sister Linda Folsom, 5 grandchildren, Tiffany, Megan, Kayla, Kaitlyn and Austin; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ariona and Zakkary. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Thursday, November 17, 10:00am at Council Road Baptist Church with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
