Danny Young went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 21st, after a brave battle with Leukemia. He was born March 11, 1954 to Leon and Iva Ree Young in Lubbock, TX. He spent his childhood on a cotton farm in Ropesville, TX learning the value of hard work. He married Beth Young on May 10, 1974 in Levelland, TX. Danny and Beth had 2 daughters, Danee and Mica. In 1985, their family moved to Bethany for Danny to attend Southern Nazarene University. They liked Bethany so much that they never left! Danny enjoyed bike riding, working in his yard, spending time with family and friends, playing with his little dog, Barney, and anything that involved his granddaughter, Olive. He had a great sense of humor and maybe a little ornery streak. Danny was a hard worker, skilled carpenter and loving father and grandfather. Danny is survived by his mother, Iva Ree Young; older brother, Daryl Young; his wife of 37 years, Beth; his daughters and sons-in-law, Danee & Stephen Link and Mica & Isaac Cannady; and the sparkle in his eye, granddaughter, Olive Kay Link; and many extended family members. Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ennis & Katie Moore, Bob & Lura Young, and his father, Leon Young. His memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25th at 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Danny Young Memorial Fund at any Bank of America, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or The Childrens Center.
