Obituary

Danny Lee Stansbury, 58, died March 1, 2022 in Oklahoma City. He was born July 1, 1963 in Edmond, OK to Arthur and Beverly (West) Stansbury. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet; daughter, Megan Labouff; mother, Beverly Stansbury; sister, Sherry Dewell; father-in-law, Virgil Janzen; grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, Luke, and Olivia; nephew, Clint Dewell and niece, Lydia Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, and mother-in-law, Pat Janzen. Danny grew up in The Village, in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed being outdoors and camping. He was a Boy Scout who worked very hard to become an Eagle Scout. He played the violin. Even as a boy he was a hard worker. He graduated from John Marshall High School and attended Redlands Community College. Danny and Janet met as teenagers. They quickly became sweethearts and have been inseparable since. They married in 1981 and welcomed their only child, Megan, in 1984. Although he only had a daughter, he made sure to teach her about all fun things outdoors and sports. Danny, Janet and Megan loved taking summer vacations, only driving to each destination. They enjoyed summers at the lake on their pontoon boat. Danny was a strong man and the ultimate peacekeeper in a household of two very strong women. He was the fixer of all things and made things easy for his girls. He was a faithful husband and a proud father. When his first grandson Joshua arrived, he was elated. He assumed the role of Poppy and excelled at it. Several years later, Andrew and Luke would arrive. Poppy then had three grandsons whom he adored. He played with them and started teaching them all the things a boy should know. Finally, his granddaughter Olivia arrived and he was over the moon for a sweet girl. Danny and Janet owned and operated Exam One together for over twenty years. He was a mentor to his employees. He offered up "dad advice" to anyone who needed it. He had impeccable character. He was honest and operated with the utmost integrity, both in his personal life and work. He was the ultimate researcher. He always carefully and meticulously researched things before he bought them. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was a true fan, never wavering through a losing a season, which says a lot for a Dallas Cowboys fan. He greatly enjoyed Thunder games with Janet, Megan and his grandkids. Danny loved the Lord and held himself to a biblical standard; there was no doubt that he was a "good man." He will be greatly missed.
