Obituary

Daniel Aaron Leatherwood was born on November 25, 1982, in Irving Texas, son of Terence "Terry "and Susan Leatherwood. He entered into eternal rest on March 31, 2024 in his home in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 41 years, 4 months and 6 days.

Daniel married his best friend, Corianna Naico on March 28, 2019. This marriage completed their family of 8.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry for most of his adult life. He enjoyed updating/modifying and customizing his car, both alone and with friends, and racing; leaving his dirty car print hands on everything he touched. He also enjoyed, more than anything, playing with his children at the park, being outdoors with his family, kayaking, and gardening. If you saw Daniel he had a Vanilla Coke in hand.

Words cannot express the stamp Daniel put on our lives. He was a good man, friend, brother, son and an even more amazing, present father.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Corianna; and their children, Douglas Smith, Arianna Yousefzadeh, McKinley Naico, Merrick Leatherwood, Maesyn Leatherwood, and Maddox Leatherwood; his siblings, David Leatherwood, Rachel Leatherwood, and Sarah King and her husband Kyle. His siblings-in-law include Tchana and Chris Guerrero and Shana Mandley, Mark Hargrove. His nieces and nephews include Gavin, Jacob, Gaige, John, Viviéan, Jayden, and Triston. His first grandchild, Greyson Blake Warde, is anticipated in the fall of this year. Daniel is also survived by his beloved pets, Daisy, Frances Flat Bottom (Daniel named her), Cheese, Bambi, Petunia, Thor (Thompson on the weekends).

Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Richard; his niece, Zoey Messenger; his father-in-law, Rodney Naico; and his dogs, Franklin and Sam.

Viewing was held for his family at Mercer-Adams on April 4, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home Chapel on May 16 at 11am.
