Carlene Tucker, 80, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, January 2, 2014 surrounded by family. Carlene was born on April 3, 1933, a daughter of the late Carl and Marie Thorne. She worked most of her life as a secretary for First Union Property Company; she was a homemaker and she sang with the Al Goode Orchestra. She was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church. Carlene was very kind and gentle. She had a loving and generous heart, and was always willing to give to others or offer a helping hand. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Marion Tucker in 1996; a son, Terry Tucker in 2009; and her sister, Shirley Davis. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children, Janice and her husband M. W. Hardy, Shirley and her husband Jeff Kutner, Kelly Tucker, and Robert Tucker and his wife Steffani; 8 grandchildren, Erin Gerhard, Adam Kutner, Danielle Kutner, Matthew Tucker, Jennifer Tucker, Zachary Tucker, Andrew Tucker and Joshua Tucker; and her great-grandchildren, Adrian Tucker, Ian Kutner, Holly Kutner and Carys Tucker. Services will be held Tuesday, January 7th at 2:00pm at Northwest Baptist Church and her final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
