D. LaVonne Reubell was born February 25, 1931 in Duncan, OK.
She graduated from Velma/Alma High School in 1948. Just before Valentines Day, while crossing the street in downtown Duncan, Bob Reubell literally bumped into her. That was the beginning of 74 years of love, faith, and family. Bob and LaVonne were married September 3, 1948. A daughter, Darla, and son, Charles joined the family in the years to come.
LaVonne worked as a bookkeeper for Morrison Floral and then became co-owner of Myrtles Wedding Shop, working with Brides, wedding gowns and catering, from 1972 until 1993.
LaVonne and Bob were part of the organizing team that formed Liberty Chapel Church then creating HOPE Foursquare Church. LaVonne loved the Lord and devoted her life to serving Jesus Christ. She served the church working with the youth, then the Senior citizens, and singing in the choir. She was a quiet lady until the children were older. Then she lost the shyness, became strong, and had a wonderful loving laugh. LaVonne was a welcoming person with a caring heart for everyone she encountered.
LaVonne was a very creative person. She loved painting landscapes and still life pictures. She was a longtime member of the Society of Decorative Painters. Everyone loved visiting their home because she was such a wonderful cook. Birds were a passion, as well as flowers. She had so much love to give she always had a pet dog in their home.
She was preceded in death by parents, Cecil H. Jenkins and Ruby E. Pogue-Jenkins, and her husband, Bob Reubell. She is survived by brothers, Charles (Norma) Jenkins, and Jackie Jenkins; daughter, Darla (Dan) Foreman of Oklahoma City; son, Charles (Sally) Reubell of Tulsa; 6 grandchildren, Kyla (Shawn) Williamson, Charles (Nicole) Reubell, Sara Reubell-Marsh, Cara (Jason) Wade, Tara (Steven) Goodson, Katy (Ted) Wunderlich; 13 great grandchildren: Cade, Keegan, Kelbi Williamson, Tatum, and Cordelia Reubell, Charlotte, Sam, and Juliet Wunderlich, Abel Marsh, Tucker and Tennie Goodson, Ruby and Maverick Wade; and numerous nieces and nephews.
